Title I, Part A: College and Career Readiness 

• Helps disadvantaged students acquire the knowledge and skills to meet challenging state academic standards that are expected of all children.
• Funds are generally used to improve academic achievement in reading and math.

Title I, Section 1003(g) School Improvements Grants (SIG)
• A subgrant under Title I, school improvement funds are intended to raise student achievement in the lowest performing five percent of schools in
each state.
• Schools that receive grants under this program must implement one of four intervention models: school closure, restart, turnaround, or transformation.
